Hong Kong Ocean Park is located at Tseung Kwan O New Town in Sha Tin District. The park occupies approximately 543 hectares (1332 hectares) and was opened to the public on 1 June 1997. The park is home to over 2,000 animals from more than 400 species, including giant pandas, red pandas, clouded leopards, Malayan tapirs, golden snub-nosed monkeys, Siamese crocodiles, eels, sea horses, jellyfish, sea turtles, sharks, rays, and stingrays.
